Introducing Brook and SH:24

From 1 April 2021, Brook will be delivering a new, innovative all-age sexual health and contraception service in Southend-on-Sea.

Working in partnership with SH:24, an award-winning supplier of digital sexual health and reproductive services, we will provide a unique blend of online and face-to-face provision fit for the digital age.

About Brook

Brook is a nationwide sexual health and wellbeing charity that was established over 55 years ago. Brook launched its first sexual health and HIV services in Southend-on-Sea in April 2021 with one main ‘hub’ site and plans to expand across 5 further ‘spoke’ sites to make sure everyone has easy access.

Brook will also support education and youth services in Southend-on-Sea to deliver safe and effective Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), training for professionals and we will be providing all-age outreach clinics to ensure that everyone has access to our services.

Brook will take a life course approach to sexual health and wellbeing, with a strong focus on education, early intervention and prevention for children, young people and those at risk.

About SH:24

SH:24 will be partnering with Brook to provide adults (18 and over) in Southend-on-Sea with online sexual health and contraception services, including postal STI tests, treatment, oral contraception and remote clinical support. SH:24 will ensure you have access to a 24/7 digital service, alongside walk-in and appointment clinics.

It works alongside existing face-to-face services with the simple aim of using technology and clinical expertise to improve people's health and wellbeing. Their safeguarding approach has been developed in consultation with young people and the Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare
